ABOUT US

Abstract Black Textures

When I started this ministry, I had a vision in my heart to serve God and be a blessing to people. The journey was not always easy. There were many struggles, difficulties, and times when things did not happen the way I expected. There were moments when I felt discouraged and wondered how we would move forward. But in all those situations, I held on to God and continued to trust Him.

we did it with faith and desire to serve people and glory to God.

My wife has also been a very important part of this ministry journey. She has stood with me through the good days as well as the difficult days. Her prayers, encouragement, support, and involvement have helped me continue when things were not easy. We have walked this journey together, trusting God for every step.

Looking back, I can truly say that whatever has been built through this ministry is not only because of our efforts.

MY TESTIMONY

My name is Suragala Moses, Founder and President of Loving Hands Shanthi Charitable Trust. Today, I give all glory, honor, and praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for bringing me this far. When I look back at my life, I can clearly see that God was preparing me through every struggle, every sacrifice, and every difficult season.

MY JOURNEY FROM A POOR BACKGROUND, I come from a poor family background. Because of financial difficulties, continuing my education was very difficult. I wanted to study, but there were times when there was not enough money even for the basic needs of our family. As the eldest son in my family, much of the responsibility fell upon me. I had to work hard while continuing my education. I experienced hunger, financial struggles, and many difficult situations.

There were times when I went without food so that I could help provide food for my family. I also carried the responsibility of helping my younger brothers and sisters with their education. I worked hard and made many personal sacrifices because I did not want them to experience the same difficulties that I had experienced. Those years were not easy. But today, I understand that God used those painful experiences to place a deep compassion within my heart for people who are struggling.

“I suffered through these circumstances, but I don't want other people to suffer in the same way if I can do something to help. That desire gradually became a burden in my heart. I began to understand that God can use our experiences—not only our successes—to help others. This became one of the reasons behind the beginning of Loving Hands Shanthi Charitable Trust. Our desire is to reach people who are poor, needy, unemployed, forgotten, or struggling to find opportunities in life.

FROM STRUGGLE TO OPPORTUNITY Today, by God's grace, we are trying to help people who were unable to continue their education, who have limited opportunities, or who do not have employment. Instead of simply giving temporary assistance, we want to help people learn skills and find opportunities to earn a livelihood.

Through skill-development programs such as tailoring and vocational training, we are helping women and young people learn practical skills so that they can work toward a more secure future.  Seeing someone who once had no opportunity learn a skill and begin working is one of the greatest blessings of this ministry.

GOD TURNED MY PAIN INTO COMPASSION.

The struggles I experienced in my childhood and youth could have remained only painful memories. But God has helped me turn those experiences into compassion for others. The hunger I experienced made me understand the needs of hungry people. The financial difficulties I experienced helped me understand families who cannot afford basic necessities. The struggle to study helped me understand people who are unable to access education.

The difficulty of finding opportunities helped me understand unemployed people who desperately want to work. Today, I pray that God will use my life so that my past struggles can become someone else's hope for the future. This ministry has not been built by human strength alone.

My story began with struggle, but by God's grace, I pray that it will continue as a story of service, compassion, hope, and transformation.
